In 2002, Pakistan Airlines ordered a total of eight Boeing 777s, with which they also presented a new appearance. Four livery variants at the tail relate to the colors and motifs of the country’s four provinces. The original of this 777-340ER model with the registration AP-BHW and the name “Lahore - Garden of the Mughals” represents the province Punjab. The designers were inspired by the tiles of the Wazir Khan mosque in Lahore.
