Christmas is already approaching at Herpa's production facilities. Somewhat similar to the Herpa DC-3 design of item #513470, this year's Christmas model D-XMAS comes with a Herpa retro look, lavishly decorated with bright little stars at the tail. Further models with a similar livery will follow, so model by model, a genuine Herpa fleet will become reality in the small scale.

This Transall C-160 of the freight company Xmas Xpress will be at your retailer in time for the Christmas season in a 2008 example edition. With a payload of 16 tons, the original would have the load capacity for many, heavy Christmas presents, but Santa Claus would hardly exchange his loyal reindeer sled for a military transporter. So the model will most likely remain a fantasy model for good.

The advanced Straocruiser of Boeing has a loading capacity of almost 25,000 kg and is therefore superbly suited to transporting consignments of large-volume parts. In the 1/500 scale, the gigantic fuselage, which resembles a pregnant Guppy (an ornamental fish), offers an ideal surface to for a Christmassy livery. So it was no competition when Herpa chose this 2009 mold novelty for its annual limited Christmas model.
