The Airbus A330-200 is a medium-to-long-range, wide-body, twin-engine jet airliner. It is the shorter fuselage variant of the highly successful A330 family (the other main variant being the longer A330-300).
It was designed to compete directly with the Boeing 767-300ER and to replace older commercial tri-jets like the McDonnell Douglas DC-10 and Lockheed L-1011 Tristar, offering significantly better fuel efficiency and lower operating costs. More information below.
