  • Description

From 1987 the first examples of the world's largest and heaviest combat aircraft to date were sent to the 184th Regiment, stationed at the Pryluky Air Force Base in the Ukrainian Socialist Soviet Republic, which was then part of the USSR. After the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, the regiment and its TU-160 bombers suddenly belonged to the now independent Ukraine. On most aircraft, the red Soviet star was painted over in light gray on the tail unit and wings, and Ukrainian national emblems were applied.
