Forty years after its maiden flight, at least one hundred TU-134 jets are still flying in the skies over Russia. Aeroflot, too, still operates sixteen of these jets, and although they are uneconomic, they seem to be indestructible. Except for a short break, the original of the model with the registration RA-85566 has been operated continuously by Aeroflot since 1971.
