In 1990, the formerly Islamic North Yemen and socialist South Yemen united, and the airlines of the two former states merged into a new entity as well. Since May 15, 1996, the state-owned airline of the united Republic of Yemen has been called Yemenia. The Boeing 737-800 with the registration 7O-ADM has been part of the fleet since September 2002.
