Since 1999, a total of seven Airbus A310-304s have replaced Boeing 707s of the German Air Force. These civil aircraft are also used for transporting high-ranking political representatives. Four of them carry an austere gray military look, such as the one registered 10+24. It was initially intended for Lufthansa, but then served with Condor, until it was finally taken over by the Luftwaffe, and named after the aviation pioneer Otto Lilienthal.
